Mrs John fox died at the home of daughter, Mrs. Chas. Banister, on east Main Street, Monday night after a period of fifteen years of suffering. while not helpless all this period, yet there was none of the time that she could call herself in health.
Her maiden name was Mary Jane Beck(Beek), and she was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, in August, 1827. She passed almost her whole life in Ontario , moving to this city in 1893. She married John Fox in 1846 and survived him by three years.

The following children are living: L R. Fox of Ontario, Mrs. Zern of Rockford, Mrs. Bristow, Mrs. Bennett, Mrs. Hawkshaw, Mrs. Chas. Banister and john Fox of this city.
The funeral services will be conducted at the M.E. Church this afternoon, Rev. Southwell performing the offices of the pastor.
Owing to her poor health, Mrs. Fox has not been able to make many acquaintances while here, but all that have known her have naught but the words of highest praise, and the life she has led can be expressed in the words used by one of her daughters and no other further need be said.:"She was a good woman."

#152 It is our sad duty to record the death of Francis Beek after a long residence in St. Stephen Charlotte Co. Mr. Beek was an Irishman by birth. He came to this country in 1821 and settled in Fredericton. In 1828 he married a daughter of the late Richard Pugh of Douglas (York Co.) Coming to St. Stephen in 1835, he opened a wheelwright shop on Water St. , nearly opposite where Gangong's Bro. Factory now stands. A few years later he moved his shop to King St. where he continued to do business until 1876. His health had been gradually failing of late and on Thursday last, he quietly passed away. Eight of his ten children are living , two in this Province NB, two in Victoria, BC and the others in different parts of the United States.

Assumed a St. Stephen Funeral where Hal Beek is singing in a quartet. Unsure relation to Francis Beek
"The funeral was held at his late home on King Street Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. P.A. Fitzpatrick assisted by Rev. D.W. Blackall. Two favorite selections were sung by a male quartet comprising Hal Beek, Walter DeWolfe, Flasiv??i Allen and W.A. Hyslop. The number of floral tributes received and the many who attended the service and joined in the cortege to the Rural Cemetery, where the body was laid at rest, testified to the esteem in which he was held throughout the district. The pall-bearers were John Speedy, Hazen Linton, Fred Woodard and Lindsay Magoon."

Several of Arthur's favourite hymns were sung, In the Garden, Precious Lord Take My Hand, The Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace. Many beautiful baskets of flowers filled the church from friends as far away as Australia and as near as next door. He touched many lives and made many friends during his lifetime. He'll be greatly missed, but very fondly remembered, by all who met him. The family requested donations be made to the United Methodist Church of Housatonic, Mass., or to the church or charity of one's choice.
