Miramichi, NB- Irene Mary Margaret Carruthers widow of Walter Carruthers of MacDonald Road Miramichi passed away Wednesday morning July 9, 2003 at Miramichi Regional Hospital following a brief illness, at the age of 81.
Born in Millbank, NB, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Eva (Beek) Creighton. She was a retired switchboard operator at Miramichi Hospital. She was a member of the Bethel United Church, Millbank, former member of the UCW , former member of Orange Lodge.
She is survived by one daughter Barbara Jean McKiel (Brian) of Quisparnsis; one Son Wayne (Joyce) of Miramichi, three brothers, William Creighton of Miramichi, James (Jim) Creighton of Miramichi, George Creighton of St. John, five grandchildren Sonya Sickles, James Carruthers, Jayne Carruthers, Shelly and Sean McKiel, Duke (Zeus) three great grandchildren, Amber, Krysta, and Kendra Lee. Predeceased by her parents her husband Walter in 1977.
